  • NC Legislation Update

    The NC House voted 101 to 7 on September 28th, 2015 and the NC Senate voted 42 to 2 on September 29th in favor of the proposed hemp legislation in North Carolina. This legislation will authorize an industrial hemp pilot program within the state of North Carolina and establishes the Industrial Hemp Commission (IHC) which is responsible for creating the rules and regulations to be followed by pilot program participants. The IHC will also be responsible for implementing university research programs. The pilot program will have licensing costs of $250 plus $2/acre.
